Responsibilities
• Manufacturing Technology Identification and Validation: Lead the search for, assessment, and validation of innovative manufacturing technologies critical to scaling up production from lab to industrial scale.
• Production Line Establishment: Oversee the technical aspects of establishing production lines for electrodes, membranes, and stack assembly, ensuring alignment with process specifications and operational efficiency.
• Process Scale-Up: Spearhead the transition from laboratory-scale processes to high-volume, continuous production, optimizing technical procedures at each stage.
• Experimentation and Process Testing: Plan, execute, and evaluate experiments to validate new technologies and optimize production processes.
• Technical Documentation and Budgeting: Develop work plans, manage associated budgets, and create comprehensive technical documentation to support production processes.
• Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Define technical requirements and manage suppliers and subcontractors, both domestically and internationally, from RFI through to execution.
• Quality Control and Process Optimization: Define quality standards and procedures, oversee quality control measures, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Production Team Leadership: Build and lead a team of engineers, technicians, and production line workers, fostering technical expertise and collaboration.

Requirements
• Education: Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience: Minimum 10 years in process industries, with a proven track record in identifying manufacturing technologies and establishing high-volume production lines
• Documentation and Planning: Proficiency in technical documentation, experiment planning, and budget management
• Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Experienced in managing supplier relationships, both technically and administratively, across domestic and international partnerships
• Team Leadership: Demonstrated success in building and managing technically proficient teams

As a control engineer in RepAir, you will lead the design, building and programing our next generation of CO2 separation systems! You will work in tight collaboration with the other engineering teams as well as with R&D department and outside contractors.
Key requirements
• Degree in Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering – an advantage.
• 5+ years of proven experience in programming industrial controllers with an emphasis on Siemens controllers – programming controllers and HMI.
• Proven experience in writing control documents – P&ID, FDS, HMI.
• Experience in wiring controllers – a significant advantage.
• Knowledge in selecting hardware components, and firmware.
• Working according to industry-accepted standards.
• Knowledge and experience in airflow system design – an advantage.
• Experience in working with external suppliers.
• Self-motivated, excellent team player, and able to work independently.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.

As the Head of R&D, you will be responsible for leading and executing our research strategy, guiding the development of new technologies, and ensuring the advancement of electrochemical DAC [Carbon-Capture] solutions. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and business leaders to innovate, prototype, and scale our solutions. You will also play a critical role in shaping the future of our technology portfolio and collaborating with external stakeholders such as academic partners, investors, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research Strategy
- Develop and drive the R&D research to advance electrochemical DAC [Carbon-Capture] technology from early-stage concepts to scalable, commercially viable solutions.
- Oversee the design and execution of experiments, simulations, and testing to validate new electrochemical systems and materials for CO2 capture.
- Lead and mentor a diverse R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and learning.
- Spearhead the discovery of new materials, processes, and technologies that enhance the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability of CO2 capture systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to transition promising R&D concepts into pilot projects and eventually scalable CO2 capture systems.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new research, and advancements in electrochemistry, carbon capture, and climate technologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the CTO and executive leadership to align R&D priorities with business goals and funding opportunities.
- Partner with product development, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of R&D outcomes into scalable products.
Resource Management & Budgeting:
- Manage the R&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet strategic objectives.
- Oversee the development of project plans, timelines, and milestones, and ensure that R&D activities are executed within scope and deadlines.
Qualifications:
Education:
- PhD in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. (MSc + equivalent experience in a technical leadership role will be considered.)
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in electrochemical research or energy technology development, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading successful R&D teams in the development of novel technologies, ideally in the areas of CO2 capture, electrochemistry, or energy storage.
- Proven experience in scaling laboratory prototypes to pilot or commercial - Must
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to energy and climate technologies.
- Proven success in development of electrochemical systems of batteries and/or fuel cells
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to tackling complex technical challenges.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex ideas to diverse audiences, including investors, regulators, and technical teams.
